Abstract

This paper analyzes the role of private individuals in the reception system of immigrants. After a description of the current legislative regulations, the author focuses on the experience of some associations that are present and operate in the territory of the Metropolitan City of Genoa. Finally, thanks to the awareness acquired during the visits to the local associations, this contribution offers some insights and indications for the success of the reception and integration of immigrants in Italy.
