Abstract

The paper takes up some reflections developed by Flavia Franzoni with particular reference to the evolution of welfare systems and the peculiarities of the health reform of the 1970s. Starting from two key concepts, such as those of integration and complexity, some implications of the reform itself are discussed in order to arrive, finally, at an analysis of the current perspective of understanding services, which sees in the relational dimension the bridging element between health services and social services, a common denominator in the choice to work «for and with» the community.
