Child protection services are changing deeply, in relation to the macro changes taking place both in the welfare policies and in the position of the juvenile and family court towards families and child protection matters. The article will outline the evolution of these services in Italy and the influence that those changes have on the organizational structure and, therefore, on the meaning given to the role of social service working with families and children.
