The Other Side of Metropolitan City: Homelessness in Bari (South of Italy)

Abstract

This paper analyzes the homelessness in the metropolitan context of Bari (city in the South of Italy) through the ethnographic research conduct in different Italian cities (Bologna, Roma, Genova, Milano, Bari). In the first part of paper are shown results of explorative research with different stakeholders, in the second part are presented few interviews with homeless living on the road, in central station and in municipal dormitories. In the last part of the paper the analysis of data with are discussed using the T-lab software and also are presented some observations in order to define new policies to contrast the local homelessness.
