Abstract

Graffiti, signs, signatures and drawings are spread over in public space in contemporary cities. The following paper presents the policy built on this social manifestation in some Italian metropolitan areas over the last few years. It points in evidence some reasons and limits of that policy. The text finally underlines that writing is probably not governable and proposes a different policy, oriented to depenalization.
