Abstract
Discriminate is an highly variable phenomenon and it's potentially complicated to identify. It especially affects foreigners, favorite victims of social stereotypes and prejudice. After examining the evolution of the concept of racial discrimination and its diffusion in Italy, the paper presents a qualitative research carried out in Pontedera (PI) which involves Moroccan and Senegalese. The results show both the daily and systematic discriminatory behaviors towards foreigners, and the limits of an excessively stable concept of racial discrimination. It appears, in fact, as a result of deficient interethnic relations built with excessive difficulty or poorly consolidated.
