Abstract
The paper investigates the emergence of work-life balance policies among family policy measures in connection with the recent increase in care services and the conceptual shift to social investment approach: an analysis of the terms employed contributes to a more equilibrated reconstruction of the debate and its implications, so that recent trends in commodification of care may be compared.
