Abstract
The article presents the emotional experience of Italian pregnant woman during the Covid-19 pandemic, paying attention to the related effects on pregnancy and childbirth. The narratives of new mothers were analyzed through thematic analysis. The following themes have been identified: perceived loneliness, anger towards restrictions, fear of contagious, concerns about baby’s health, difficulties and resilience in begin able to cope with different everyday problems. The new mothers’ lived experiences are discussed in relation to previous literature to inform future research and to put forward recommendations for enhancing clinical practice and promotion of the well-being and health of women and babies
