Abstract
The commentary gives some answers to the first question posed by Ballarotto and Zavattini (2023), namely, what does addiction to video games and online pornography in adolescence have in common and what differentiates it. The issue is addressed through the perspective that considers emotional regulation and attachment as central determinants of adolescent functioning and further contextualized by considering their intertwining with other motivational systems.
