Abstract
We reviewed the literature on Turner syndrome referring to genetic, hormonal and morphological aspects in relation to the neuropsychological profile of the syndrome. Girls with Turner syndrome do not present necessary mental retardation, but they show intellective peculiarities which have been the subject of a great number of studies. Many data converge on the idea of a visuo-spatial deficit at the presence of normal verbal performances. The genetic molecular approach gives new perspective in the study of individuals who have a known genetic anomaly and looks for neurodevelopmental consequences.
