Abstract

The statistically significant diffusion of ADHD, together with the diagnosis complexity arriving from it, put in evidence the importance of a preventive screening directed to identify the subjects at risk, on whom carry out, in a second time, targeted test. From this point of view, the school context may offer the most suitable conditions. That has been come out from a pilot study realized in 7 primary schools on a selected sample of 64 subjects (equal to 11,3% of the considered universe). The methodology, found on teachers as data source, resorted to a battery of instruments (SDAI, TRS, Vanderbilt Scale), used not as a diagnostic aim, but only as a first screening of the possible subjects at risk. These data allow to confirm the functionality of this methodology and also to fix the features of a phase that could appear as the first step of the diagnostic process of clinical case. La diffusione statisticamente significativa del DDAI, unitamente alle difficoltà di diagnosi che esso comporta, segnalano l'importanza che può presentare uno "screening" preventivo volto a identificare i soggetti a rischio, sui quali condurre, in un secondo momento, accertamenti mirati. Da questo punto di vista il contesto scolastico potrebbe offrire le condizioni più adeguate. Ciò è stato verificato attraverso uno studio pilota realizzato in 7 scuole primarie su un campione selezionato di 64 soggetti (pari all'11,3% dell'universo considerato). La metodologia, fondata sulla considerazione dell'insegnante come fonte di dati, ha fatto ricorso a una batteria di strumenti (SDAI, TRS, Scala Vanderbilt) utilizzati non con finalità diagnostiche ma unicamente di primo "screening" dei probabili soggetti a rischio. I dati rilevati consentono di confermare la funzionalità di tale metodologia e di definire le caratteristiche di quella che potrebbe configurarsi come prima fase del processo diagnostico di tipo clinico.
