Abstract

There is an increasing number of studies investigating association between development of psychological lexicon and social competence. The aim of the present study is to verify this relationship in preschool children. Results show that preschool children use a different lexicon to describe liked and disliked peers. However, the association between psychological lexicon and social competence is not still clear; psychological lexicon is positively associated with children's sociometeric status, but significant association with social skills was not found.
