Abstract
The study investigated the relationship among ADHD, sensation seeking, and problematic Internet use (PIU, according to IAT criteria; Young, 1998) in a non-clinical sample of 267 adolescents. Subjects with high ADHD symptoms resulted problematic users in higher percentage. Males showed a higher risk of PIU and higher sensation seeking levels than females. ADHD levels, in confront to sensation seeking, resulted more predictive to PIU. These findings invite to deepen the coexistence of ADHD and sensation seeking in technological addictions and the predictive weight of these individual characteristics that, together with gender and age, can explain the adolescents' vulnerability to addiction.
