Abstract
The paper discusses the processing of the motherhood experience through the dream recalling. Themes emerged from 40 pregnant women's dream narratives were compared for period (first/third trimester) and experience of pregnancy (primipara/ pluripara). The narratives of dreams were analyzed as a text through a lexical analysis of specificities and a thematic analysis of elementary contexts, both provided by T-Lab (Lancia, 2004). Four clusters (Challenge, Psychic/sensorial, Anxieties, Caesura), organized in the factorial mapping, show three vectors of meaning representing the functions of dream (To contain/ To Throw out, To assemble psychic material, Transformations). Differences appear according to the period and the experience of pregnancy.
