Abstract
The present study outlines the WISC-IV profile in a sample of Italian gifted children and adolescents. Consistent with literature data, we found that Italian gifted obtained outstanding scores in all Indexes that constitute the Scale, especially in Verbal Comprehension and Perceptual Reasoning. They reached a less outstanding score in the Processing Speed Index. Gifted children and adolescents achieved higher performances in tasks that involve conceptual and abstract reasoning than tasks that involve time pressure and visual-motor coordination.
