Abstract
The raku pottery, inseparately linked to the tea ceremony, expresses in the most absolute and icastic way the ideals of an aesthetic tradition diametrically opposed to the Western One. Yet the historical genesis, the constructive techniques and the primacy of its practical use highlight the extra worldly connection between ethics and aesthetics from which all the artistic masterprices draws their "ratio essendi".
