Abstract
The present essay analyses the song A vita bassa by Baustelle, openly inspired by an article written by Marco Lodoli. It highlights the subtle dialogue with some of the most important italian writers (Pascoli, Montale, Leopardi): a dialogue that enriches the meaning of the song far more than one might think on first listen. The suprising cultural implications of the song and the remarkable writing elegance demonstrate that its form, as often happens with Baustelle, can reduce the traditional distance that separates it from literature
