Abstract
Emilio Villa was an eclectic translator, a sharp critic and the author of an extensive poetic production. His intellectual path has crossed that of many protagonists of Italian and international culture; his art criticism has anticipated many important insights on contemporary art; his poetry has insisted on the premonition of a primordial vacuum. The book by Ugo Fracassa "Per Emilio Villa. 5 referti tardivi" offers a significant contribution to the research about Emilio Villa's activities: it investigates his cultural commitment and rebuilds unpublished texts, scattered correspondences, interrupted projects with artists and intellectuals. This note provides a summary of the book presentation event which took place on December 10, 2015 at the Vallicelliana Library of Rome, with the intervention of the author (professor of Literary Theory and Criticism at the University of Roma Tre) and the contributions of Aldo Tagliaferri (major critic and connoisseur of the human and cultural story of Villa) and Francesco Muzzioli (professor of Literary Criticism at the Sapienza University of Rome).
