Abstract
The paper aims to provide a recognition for locating the recent studies on Michelangelo Buonarroti. A new critical edition, edited by Antonio Corsaro and Giorgio Masi (M. Buonarroti, "Rime e lettere", Bompiani, Milano 2017), which recollects Michelangelo's lyrics and letters, considering multiple criteria under a hierarchical structure; and Ambra Moroncini's book ("Michelangelo's Poetry and Iconography in the Heart of the Reformation", Routledge, London-New York 2017), which makes clear the connections between Michelangelo and Sixteenth Century reformated theses, contributing to the identification of the correspondence exchanged with Vittoria Colonna and focusing on some sonnets. Moreover, the paper announces the retrieving of a new autograph of Buonarroti, most likely coming from the closing of a letter.
