Abstract
The paper proposes to analyze the presence of the rethorical elements in the ancient comments to Dante's "Commedia". The purpose of the brief note is to value the literariness of the texts and, therefore, the culture owned by the exegetes, verifying if, and in what way, the aspects related to the ars are noticed. The essay focuses particularly on the text by Francesco da Buti (confronted with the exegesis of Guido da Pisa and Benvenuto da Imola).
