Abstract
In her third novel, "La Storia", Elsa Morante describes the twentieth-century, considering the Jewish genocide a fundamental moment. The first part analyses the symbolic and the mythological function of the extermination camp, the second part focuses on the textual analysis of the historical reconstruction.
