Abstract
The article traces the path of the Food Policy of Roma Capitale, the role of the actors and the economic forces involved, and the governance process. Indeed, in the current scenario, thrusts of «bottom-up construction» of policies are confronted along with the action of the traditional actors of the food system. Findings show that the process has been the first form of coordination among the multitude and historically relevant projects, policies, and actions on the roman territory regarding food. In particular, the institutionalization of the food matter signed a change in leadership from bottom-up movements to the city administration. As the institutionalization process has just started, the study sets some possible governance scenarios and questions, useful for further research and policymakers.
