Abstract
The article focuses on the role of interest groups in the Italian pensions policymaking. It first provides a summary of the key interest groups in the field and then sheds light on the groups' organisational resources and their lobbying activity. Three reform processes are then analysed to assess groups' influence in the policymaking process and their interaction with political decision makers. The article proofs the changing dynamics in the pensions policymaking, with the duplication of the pensions policy arena, with statutory public pensions being at the core of one sub-system and the supplementary pensions at the core of a second sub-system. In such a context, the dialogue between policymakers and social partners has declined in the last years.
