Abstract
Starting from the more traditional studies on forms of government – which highlight the role played by political parties in the formation of political policy – this essay proposes a reflection on the role of pressure groups in contemporary democracies. By examining the different models of regulation of the relationship between lobbies and constitutional institutions, the author identifies three sub-types of forms of government in relation to the different level of transparency or participation in policy formation
