Abstract

The article is structured in two parts. The first describes four macro-tendencies describing, on one side, the lobbying strategies of organized stakeholders on EU public decision-making; on the other, EU institutions' decisions of the regulation of lobbying, transparency and inclusivity of decision-making processes. The second part of the article speculates on the impact of lobbying on the democratization of EU decision-making. In spite of the democratic potential of the Union, existing power-asymmetries increase the possibilities of regulatory capture and hinder the accessibility of EU decisions to the general public
