Abstract

This paper traces the evolution of Italian legal scholarship on federal and regional systems during the last twenty-five years. In particular, it analyzes how Italian authors during this period have changed their stance with respect to issues such as the distinction between federal and regional states, disaggregative federalism, and territorial asymmetry. In the final paragraphs, also drawing on the experience of recent economic and pandemic crises, some new research themes are highlighted for further exploration in the coming years
