Abstract

Comparative law research over the last 25 years on the processes of federalism and regionalism have found significant space in Italian and international doctrine. The scientific study of the classic themes of federalism and regionalism have been addressed in Italy with comparative method and broad perspectives. Several factors have been decisive for the changes that have occurred in the federal and regional States in the last quarter of a century. Among these, it is possible identify the intensification of the European integration process and the emergencies of various kinds that have been a constant feature in these last years. The emergencies have constituted a significant stress test for these kinds of States.
