Abstract

Jobbik - Movement for a Better Hungary is Hungary's most successful radical right party since its outstanding breakthrough of 2009. This article examines the compact reasons of its continuous development and success by a multidisciplinary approach. It analyses on the one hand the tradition of the radical right wing political forces after the democratic transition in Hungary, so that the antecedents of the Jobbik. On the other hand the article studies the Jobbik's evaluation, institutional structure and ideological profile relying on semi-structured interviews, its political programmes based on content analysis of the parties official programmes and its electoral results.
