Abstract
Before the beginning of the Second Vatican Council, the famous theologian Karl Rahner was involved in the evaluation of the texts produced in the preparatory period. The great work carried out for the critical reception of these texts enabled Rahner to write, before the beginning of the discussion about the official De fontibus scheme, the short text entitled Disquisitio brevis. The presentation of the text, the transcription and translation from Latin and the analysis of the considerations contained therein open up an interesting perspective for the study of Vatican II, with the texts debated and then published, and allow scholars to reveal a detailed picture of the fervent theological discussions in progress
