Abstract

This note follows the intellectual journey of Raniero La Valle, from his resignation as director of the newspaper «L’Avvenire d’Italia» (1967) to the experience of the journal «Bozze» (1978). The originality of «Bozze» consists in the active interpretation of the faith-politics relationship in history; in the role attributed to lay responsibility and freedom of believers with respect to the ecclesiastical authority and the imposed political unity of Catholics in a single party; in the search of a new kind of social and ethic theology in the religious world, on the one hand, and of the anthropological roots of Marxism on the other, all in the frame of a constant dialogue between these two worlds, freed of ideologies and dogmatism, in the name of a struggle against the neo-liberalism of consumerism and hedonism, and for the identification of not only an ethical but also a political perspective for pacifism and the fight against inequalities in the world.
