Abstract
From private correspondence, this paper describes relations between the Bishop of Brescia, Cardinal Angelo Maria Querini, and Lutheran professors of Leipzig University following the Cardinal’s two visits to Germany in 1748 to prepare the ground for a «reunion» between Catholics and Protestants. History of the Church during the Reformation, philology, philosophy, as well as the exchange of numerous books destined both to personal libraries and public libraries of Brescia and Leipzig, are the fundamental themes of a multi-voice erudite dialogue within the Italian-German Kulturtransfer during the Enlightenment.
