Abstract
Stemming from Mieke Bal’s theorization of «preposterous history», as well as from Anne Carson’s conceptualization of the Sublime as a «documentary technique», the article aims to provide a «preposterous» interpretation of Michelangelo Antonioni’s L’avventura (1960), The Eclipse (L’eclisse, 1962) and Red Desert (Il deserto rosso, 1964) in the light of Anne Carson’s poems on Monica Vitti.
