Abstract
This study analyzes Ambra Angiolini’s autobiographical novel InFame (2020) in the context of autobiographies by Italian actresses, highlighting her distinctive voice. Starting with the novel, which recounts her ten-year struggle with bulimia nervosa, the analysis focuses on the early phase of Angiolini’s television career, particularly her role as host of Non è la Rai, a period that coincides with the onset of her illness. Furthermore, drawing on theoretical frameworks from Fat Studies, the article examines the relationship between eating disorders and the beauty ideals promoted by mainstream media in Italy during the 1990s.
