Abstract
Most of Elsa de’ Giorgi’s works can certainly be defined as autobiographical, according to a peculiar constant of divagraphies. However, despite a widespread autobiographical nature of writing, several works show at the same time a resistance to being fully framed in the genre of autobiography. This contribution arises from the reading of these texts and also proposes a comparison with the case of another writer-actress, Goliarda Sapienza, in some ways analogous. The aim is to reflect on the terminology that revolves around the self writings, in particular in relation to autobiography and autofiction, and to try to verify then, by testing the texts, the effectiveness of the analytical perspective of ‘autobiographical space’, more than the opportunity of a framing within a specific genre
