Abstract
This essay aims to discuss Actualism by trying to grasp, in the peculiarity of its approach, the departure from a mere re-proposition of Hegelianism – albeit an updated one – and the original interpretation of the most significant tensions underlying contemporaneity. The interpretations of contemporary philosophers such as Croce and Tilgher, which are examined in the essay, show that Gentile’s philosophy was immediately understood in its revolutionary scope, and taken as a starting point for innovative future theoretical developments
