Abstract

This note discusses Grenze’s notion – boundary, limit – in Wittgenstein’s Tractatus. The historical reference is Euclid’s Elements, but in relation to Plato. It also discusses there the notion of Welt and Tatsache with references to Aristotle. All this according to the suggestion in Brian McGuinness’ work that Wittgenstein’s Tractatus can and perhaps should be read in the light of classical Greek thought.
