Abstract
This article focuses on the notions of “antagonismµ and “conflictµ in Marx’s philosophy. Through a close reading of some passages from Capital and its Preparatory Manuscripts, this paper tries to show that in the Marxian critique of political economy notions such as “antagonismµ and “antagonistic formµ reveal the structural limits to capital (that can also be subsumed by capital itself), while “conflictµ defines the expression of the contradictions immanent to bourgeois society. Following this dialectic of “antagonismµ and “conflictµ it is possible to develop a new paradigm for the reading of socio-political determinations, which is alternative to the ontologisations and eternisations typical of the contemporary political philosophy.
