Abstract

MacKinnon occupies a prominent but controversial position in Feminist Legal Theory. On the basis of her theses, this focus aims to arise some central topics in feminist perspective about law and politics. The following essays by Cristina García Pascual, Valeria Ottonelli and Isabel Trujillo discuss particularly the role of law in the struggle against women's subordination, the idea of women's autonomy and political subjectivity, the definitions of "human" and "universal", and the implications of postmodernist approach, with reference to human rights practice.
