Abstract

The present work reveals a new unpublished inscription, belonging to the well-known group of stelae with representation of funeral banquet with its epicenter in the Lara de los Infantes/Noua Augusta area, in the province of Burgos. In addition to new aspects related with the onomastics of those represented in this type of tituli, the piece has the peculiarity of the position of the servants in the iconographic scene that top the monument, right over the epigraphic field, and, also, the fact of coming from the province of Soria where less evidence of this unique epigraphic type had been attested. The article provides an explanation for this reality
