Abstract
An inscription, mentioning a pictor, has been found in Bourbon-Lancy formerly Aquae Bormonis, in the territory of the Aedui. Some subjects have been studied here. It is well known that curative waters had ben found in this little agglomeration, in an establishment called thermae. The inscription was engraved during the first part of the IInd Century. It mentioned the dii Manes of the dead. There was also a social aspect: painters belonged to the upper part of the middle class; they were in the same time artists and artisans
