Abstract
Taking advantage of the discovery of a new manuscript of Ilicino’s commentary on the Triumphs of Petrarch (Urb. Lat. 351), this essay tracks back the critical success of this work and sheds light on some unsolved questions. Particular focus is given to the items kept in the Florentine libraries, to highlight their peculiarities and their philological aspects. Lastly, in order to identify which family Illicino’s commentary belongs, the paper analyses the position of the capitoli, and relates it to the census of the manuscripts of the Triumphs.
