Abstract
The essay proposes the critical and commented edition of the capitolo ternario Il gran famoso Publio Scipïone, composed by the Florentine poet Antonio di Meglio in honor of the captain Francesco Sforza. In the opening paragraphs the paper gives information about the historical context in which the composition of the capitolo can be placed, and then analyses the poem in praise of the condottiere, who is compared for his virtue and value to the Roman hero Publio Cornelio Scipione Africano.
