Abstract

Through the analysis of some exemplary cases of contamination within the manuscript tradition of Dante’s ‘Commedia’, this paper aims to reconsider the phenomenology of this obstacle of textual criticism and to propose a series of theories regarding its possible diagnosis, its realistic development and potential in the field of the stemmatics.
