Abstract

The essay presents a previously unknown fragment of the ‘Commedia’, preserved at the State Archive of Pesaro Urbino. The first part of the contribution illustrates the circumstances of the discovery and provides some useful data for reconstructing its provenance and archival history. In the second part, the fragment is described, and some hypotheses regarding its dating and localization are proposed; finally, the handwriting is identified as that of one of the most skilled transcribers of the ‘Commedia’ from the first half of the fourteenth century, the so-called copista di Lau
