Abstract

The contribution, taking inspiration from an expression by Karl Rahner on the forgotten intuitions of the Second Vatican Council, presents the brief history of its reception and the resistance that was posed to it. It shows, according to the unanimous opinion of scholars, the great influence that the various pontificates have had, from Paul VI to Francis. Finally, it seeks to offer a unitary perspective of reading the entire conciliar "corpus" and opens the way to a creative, critical and prophetic ferrying of the Council into the new era that awaits Christianity and the Church.
