Abstract
"PsSal" 8 and 1Thess 4,13–5,11 seem to share the same Jewish apocalyptic system: from the sound of the horn to the solemn encounter of God with his people, to God’s faithfulness to his chosen people, to hope, and salvation. In the same vein, the two sources are unified by the topics of devastation, the hidden sins, drunkenness, and the encounter with the Lord. Against the misleading proclamation of «peace and security», and the following manifestation of wrath, the author of "PsSal" 8 and Paul confess their hope for salvation in God’s faithfulness and election. More than an anti-imperial propaganda, "PsSal" 8 and 1Thess 4,13–5,11 reflect a controversy between intra Jewish religious movements against those who do not put their hope in the Lord. The undeniable differences between the two sources and their intra Jewish movement continue with the permanence of an apocalyptic system testified by the so-called «pious of God» and «the saints».
