Abstract
The essay continues a research started in 2020 in I misteriosi anni Venti. Lalla Romano and Post-Gobettian Turin. Through the scanning of unpublished materials kept at the “Lalla Romanoµ Fund in Milan, and in other archives, the aim was to verify the link between Fiore’s poems (her literary debut in 1941) and the story in the old age of her youth that was included in the novel Una giovinezza inventata (1979). His correspondence with Antonicelli, Venturi, Casorati, Galante, and Levi-Montalcini tells us that his relationships with others were the driving force behind the birth of his intimate writing. It is above all the youthful reading of a text such as Il gusto dei primitivi, published by Lionello Venturi in 1926, that serves as a test of the awareness of antifascism on the part of a generation destined to plead, through literature and culture in general, the cause of “Giustizia e Libertàµ
