Abstract
The article considers Alberto Asor Rosa’s Alba di un mondo nuovo (2001), highlighting the situations in which an important role is played by hearing and the acoustic perceptions in environments that are sometimes familiar (the house, the school), sometimes isolated in time (the countryside), or affected by the war (the city of Rome).
