Abstract
The essay pays attention to the importance of Italo Calvino's works in Sweden nowadays, starting from If on a winter's night a traveler. After a discussion about what a translator is and about the lightness in Calvino's style, the author examines the different levels of Calvino's texts referring specificly to Palomar, then reflects about the irony in the texts, Calvino's specific tone in the story A King Listens and above all about the difficulties you encounter when you translate from Italian to Swedish.
