Abstract

The essay, which reviews the reports that emerged during the first Palermo conference of Gruppo 63, and which particularly involved Anceschi, Giuliani, Guglielmi, Sanguineti, Dorfles, Barilli, Leonetti, Eco, intends to demonstrate how misleading the definitions of avant-garde and group. If we understand the experience as a “critical review of modernityµ, would be easier to understand and value the complex theoretical contradictions that emerged during the debate.
